When you choose a car grille that is manufactured on a large scale, you'll find it's typically made using inexpensive plastic that is poured into moulds before being fitted. However, with a Zunsport custom car grille, you'll get high-quality materials, excellent craftsmanship, and expert care. So, how are Zunsport's grilles made?

Are Zunsport's Car Grilles Handmade?

Yes, every item is individually developed using a unique prototyping technique and is specific to the vehicle to which it will be fitted. As well as the grille, customers are provided with all the brackets and clips required for fitment as well as the instructions.

What Materials Are Used?

Zunsport's grilles are made using stainless steel and mesh and is available in one of two finishes: black and silver. For both finishes, stainless steel is used because of its many benefits, including its corrosion resistance, cryogenic toughness and excellent strength. It also has a higher work hardening rate compared to mild steel, offers excellent ductility, is low maintenance and looks great! For the black finish, the nylon polymer provides mechanical strength, hardness, stiffness and toughness.

How Are Grilles Made?

Here's the step by step process used by Zunsport to create stainless steel car grilles:

1. Bend the wire to the copper template
2. TIG weld the frame
3. Mark the clipping points onto the frame
4. Spot weld the mesh to the frame
5. Cut away any excess mesh from the frame
6. Fast cut the clipping points
7. Linish the frame (polishing and removing any excess material)
8. TIG weld the clips to the frame
9. Send the grille to be finished
10. During the finishing process, a nylon polymer black coating is applied, or the grille can be electropolished.

Wire-weaving machines, TIG welders and belt linishers are used throughout the manufacturing process.

Styled For Protection

Each Zunsport grille is styled for protection, so while the grille will enhance the look of your vehicle, it will also protect it from damage caused by leaves, stones, and other debris on the road. Radiator and intercooler damage, as well as brake corrosion, can all be avoided with our super-strength car grilles.
