If you love your motorhome, you'll want to protect the engine from the dangers that dust, dirt, grit, leaves, pebbles and other detritus can bring. One of the best ways of doing this is to invest in a suitable grille;
covering the opening right at the front of the vehicle, the grille allows air to circulate at the same time as keeping out unwanted objects. If you haven't got tools which are suitable for cutting extremely tough stainless steel mesh, or the right equipment to fix it into position, a DIY radiator grille is going to be difficult to achieve.

To craft a grille from the right materials and then fit it securely and correctly into position requires a considerable degree of skill, as well as patience. If you've got previous experience in metal fabrication and motorhome maintenance, you could well be able to fashion a suitable grille with the right materials. Bear in mind, though, that this could take a considerable amount of time. You may also need to make several different versions in order to create one that's a good fit.

Although it's perfectly possible to create a DIY motorhome grille, it can be a time-consuming and frustrating process. In addition to the layout for materials, you may also need to buy additional tools in order to get the job done properly. For all these reasons, it's often preferable to purchase a ready-made grille. Not only will this be manufactured by experts to a high specification, it's also designed for your particular motorhome, resulting in a good, secure fit.
